Vulnerability is Strength
Being Vulnerable Creates Connection.Vulnerability is Strength | The Power of Vulnerability
Vulnerability is strength? How’s that possible?
Most people think sharing their innermost feelings and fears with others shows weakness. Who wants to let it all hang out if it means being judged, criticized or rejected? Disapproval or anger (or worse) from those you love – or anyone for that matter – can feel awful. Based on past experiences, exposing yourself and opening up emotionally may not feel safe.
So why do it? Because it will help you feel more connected – something we all need. “Connection is why we’re here. It’s what gives us purpose and meaning to our lives”. Brené Brown
It takes a great deal of courage to be vulnerable.
Listen to Brené Brown talk about vulnerability as she helps us all understand the power of vulnerability. Also see her Listening to Shame video which will help you understand the relationship between shame and vulnerability.
“Brené Brown studies human connection — our ability to empathize, belong, love. In a poignant, funny talk at TEDxHouston, she shares a deep insight from her research, one that sent her on a personal quest to know herself as well as to understand humanity.” Talks to share.
