Insurance & Fees

We are an out-of-network provider. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network mental health benefits that reimburse a portion of each session. We provide a detailed superbill you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

Session fees vary by clinician and session type. View full fee schedule → or ask during your free consultation.

Why out-of-network?

Working out-of-network lets us offer the kind of focused, personalized care insurance panels often don’t support — longer sessions, fewer admin demands, and therapists who choose this practice for the quality of work, not the contract.

“I just want to say that my wife saw Bob Jenkins several times and we were very happy with his ability to help us. He created a safe space for us to express ourselves and offered good advice as well. We would recommend him to anyone! Thank you so much for connecting us with Bob. Please tell Bob that we are doing very well and we have turned the corner (for the better) regarding our issues. Thank you!!”

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

We are an out-of-network provider. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network mental health benefits — we provide a detailed superbill you can submit for reimbursement. We recommend calling your insurance to ask about out-of-network mental health coverage.

Do you offer telehealth or virtual sessions?

Yes. All our clinicians offer telehealth sessions for clients across New Jersey. In-person sessions are available at our Maplewood office at 169 Maplewood Ave #4.

How long does marriage counseling take?

Most couples see meaningful progress within 8–12 sessions, though duration depends on the specific concerns. Some couples come for short-term targeted work; others stay for ongoing relationship support.

What if my partner doesn’t want to come?

You can start with individual relationship therapy. We also offer discernment counseling — designed for couples where one partner wants therapy and the other is unsure whether to stay together.

How is the first session different from regular therapy?

The first session is mostly listening. Your therapist hears each partner’s story, observes the patterns between you, and offers a clear picture of what the work might look like. No assignments, no verdicts — just a thoughtful look at how you got here.

What if we’ve tried couples therapy before and it didn’t work?

Many couples who come to us have tried therapy elsewhere. We focus on what made past therapy fall short and design our approach around what your relationship actually needs — not a one-size-fits-all model.

Do you work with LGBTQ+ couples?

Yes. All our clinicians are LGBTQ+ affirming. We work with gay couples, lesbian couples, bisexual partners, polyamorous relationships, and trans/non-binary couples — with the same depth and care as any other couple.
